These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Acopodo mobile application (the "App"), operated by Monoceros Holdings GK, a company registered in Japan. By downloading, installing, or using Acopodo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

Acopodo is a Japanese language learning application that provides kanji practice, vocabulary flashcards, stroke order training, writing practice, camera OCR, AI-powered tutoring, and other educational features. The App is available in multiple interface languages.

2. Eligibility

Acopodo is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old (or at least 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom) to use the App. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial & Billing

3.1 Subscription tiers

Acopodo is offered on a paid subscription basis with two tiers:

• Standard — access to all lessons, kanji grades, vocabulary, and writing practice.
• AI Sensei — everything in Standard, plus access to the AI Sensei conversational tutor, personalized language islands, and native TTS generation.

The exact monthly price for each tier is displayed in the App before you subscribe, in your local currency where supported by the app store.

3.2 Free trial

New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the price shown for the tier you selected, and you will be charged by the app store. You can use the free trial only once per account per tier (subject to the app store's rules). Unused trial time is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription.

3.3 Automatic renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically every month at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your app store account will be charged at the start of each new period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Google Play account (or Apple App Store account, when available). Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

3.4 Price changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Where required by law or app store policy, you will be notified in advance and given the opportunity to accept the new price or cancel before it takes effect.

3.5 Refunds

All payments are processed by Google Play (or Apple, when available). Refund requests are handled by the respective app store in accordance with its refund policy. Monoceros Holdings GK does not process refunds directly. Statutory rights of withdrawal or refund that apply in your jurisdiction (for example under EU consumer law) are not affected by this section.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Acopodo only for its intended purpose of language learning. You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or access controls
• Use the app or its AI features to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app or its content

5. AI Sensei

The AI Sensei feature is powered by third-party AI technology (Anthropic's Claude API). Responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate. AI Sensei is a learning aid, not a certified language instructor. Monoceros Holdings GK is not liable for errors in AI-generated content.

6. Intellectual Property

All content within Acopodo — including but not limited to text, graphics, illustrations, animations, audio, and software — is the property of Monoceros Holdings GK or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Acopodo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Monoceros Holdings GK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

9. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Acopodo shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
